This is the second month of the third quarter projects from Jimmy Beans Wool, and I have not come close to finishing the first month of this quarter’s projects. To be fair to myself anytime I start crafting recently it is with the intention of getting at least a row done on my sweater, pattern by furls. I am down to the last 9 rows for the sweater before the end two and sleeves. I really hope to get at least three of these rows done this week so that I have a reasonable expectation of finishing before September, which is just flying by. The photograph above is of my crochet cowl from the Jimmy Beans Kit, this is the start of the first part and I received my second installment in the mail this past weekend. The pattern is simple and pretty, I have it memorized already, but it will take some dedicated time to get through it. If I could find a TV series that I can get lost in that might help.
I have made quite a bit more progress on my Jimmy Beans Wool Knitting project, however this is going to be a poncho, so there is quite a bit more to go. One of the main things that I am learning this quarter is how to work with two or more colors of yarn alternating rows. At present the knitting is easier, there are not any floats to carry since I am changing colors every row. With the crochet I am changing colors every two rows so I will have to either learn how to deal with the floats or crochet on a bit of a border to bury them.
If I manage to finish off another ball of yarn this week I will try to post photos before starting the next. I make no promises, if I finish this skein before I reach 3 rows completed I will have to put on another skein and see if I can charge through that one so that I can post photos! Wish me luck!
